Welcome to Oak Class!
Our teacher is Miss Vann and we have support from Miss Lee throughout the week.
We are a mixed Year 4 and 5 class. Our classroom is a very happy place, where we try our hardest and tackle new challenges together.
The children in Oak Class have made a fantastic start to the academic year. In Maths, the children have been solving place value problems and in English, we have written excellent list poems and have moved onto learning exactly what to include in a newspaper report. In History, the children have begun to delve into the past, uncovering the secrets of Ancient Egypt.
In Science, the children have been exploring the properties of solids, liquids and gases, ensuring that they use the correct scientific vocabulary.
This week, many children battled the elements and took part in Bikeability. The instructors were impressed with their determination and beautiful manners - well done to everyone involved! Those who did not take part worked hard with Miss Vann to explore the topic of sustainability and what we can do to protect our environment. We were rather shocked at some of the facts we discovered! The children worked in teams to produce some super presentations about the use of plastic and the impact this has on our environment. They even wrote a song - watch this space!
